Mevagissey is a fantastic fishing port on the Cornish South coast, 7 Miles away from St Austell and can boast to being the second busiest fishing port in Cornwall with a well established fishing fleet starting at 15′ open boats to 40’+ trawlers. Along with a thriving fishing industry the harbour supports a boat builder with Mevagissey steeped tradition of building boats of various designs from a fishing boat to small yachts.   

Bus and Train Travel

No. 24 & 102 From St Austell to Mevagissey

The No. 24 bus travels to Mevagissey and can be boarded at St Austell Railway station. There is a No. 24 bus every hour and please follow the link for further information

St Austell Railway Station

Travelling to the shanty festival couldn't be easier, with great rail inks to St Austell and easy access to the bus network. Simply arrive at St Austell Station and jump on the next bus to Mevagissey. The Bus Station is based at St Austell Station giving easy access.

Parking

Mevagissey, has plenty of parking first and largest car park is Willow Carpark (Valley Rd, Mevagissey, Saint Austell PL26 6SB), and slightly further on  there is Sunny Side Car Park (Chapel Square, Mevagissey, Saint Austell PL26 6ST), a small short stay on the one way system and on the harbour (Mevagissey, Saint Austell PL26 6UU) another large car park finally there is a Council Car park outside of the Doctors surgery(River St, Mevagissey, Saint Austell PL26 6UE). 

For those visiting the Rising Sun Inn (PL26 6PL) there is a car park outside of the pub.
